Program Mission, Goals, and Objectives
Program Mission: To prepare graduates to be culturally-sensitive registered dietitian nutritionists with the competence and skills that will allow them to advance the science and practice of nutrition and dietetics equitably for all individuals and communities.
Goal #1 - Program graduates will be culturally-sensitive practitioners in the field of nutrition and dietetics as a result of high-quality advanced didactic education and experiential training.
Objectives:
At least 80% of interns complete program requirements within 15 months for interns who are not in a graduate degree program and 27 months for interns enrolled in an 18-month graduate degree program (150% of planned program length).
Of graduates who seek employment, at least 50 percent are employed in nutrition and dietetics or related fields within 12 months of graduation.
At least 75% of employers who complete the evaluation will agree or strongly agree that the alumni they hired were adequately prepared for entry-level practice.
At least 50% of alumni who respond to the alumni survey agree or strongly agree that they received adequate training during the program to be a culturally-sensitive practitioner.
Goal #2: Program graduates will be well-prepared for careers as entry-level registered dietitians practicing with diverse populations.
Objectives:
The program’s one-year pass rate (graduates who pass the registration exam within one year of first attempt) on the CDR credentialing exam for dietitian nutritionists is at least 80%.
At least 80% of program graduates take the CDR credentialing exam for dietitian nutritionists within 12 months of program completion.
50% of alumni who respond to the alumni survey will agree or strongly agree that they are comfortable working in settings that serve diverse groups.
